Hi everyone, I’m back!
Been away for awhile, but now I’ve gotten a few things straightened out and so I’m now good to go. As you can see, I’ve changed the layout, my life’s motto has always been, “Life’s a Beach!” so why not reflect that in my blog.
This blog was created with no specific purpose, but to inform my readers on a variety of topics and maybe because of that lacked focus. I’ll be the first to admit it, I wasn’t following my plan, so I’ve taken some time off to re-assess things and come up with some format changes.
My passion for movies, and film in general, has driven me to write my own screenplay, “Power Over Others” and I’ve just put out the big bucks to have a budget done. Believe me it’s not cheap, but I will be doing a post on the service I’m using, they are the best. I did this in response to an Indian Producer asking about my film script, and though he is a very well know producer, he has budget limitations, but it has gotten my budget done now.
My passion for movies has me watching them, not only as a way to unwind, but also as a screenwriter. There are many sites online that will allow you to watch, current releases and classics, some of them are actually free. All of these are of a lower resolution than the theater or your own home theater, but are good enough to watch on your laptop. YouTube and Google have archived many of the old classics, and the latest report this author has is YouTube is currently in negotiations with some of the major studios to show their movies online.
There have been many words lobbed back and forth about illegal downloading, but what the “Big Studios” aren’t getting is the opportunity to reach a whole new audience for their product. It is not atypical to their character to only look at the bottom-line, so it is “We The People” in “Cyberspace” to show them the way.
Up front Disclaimer: Gotta put up the gobbledee goop: This site or its author do not endorse illegal downloading, period. I support the artist, writer, musician, filmmaker, producers, etc. who make all this “entertainment” we all enjoy.
So here is “my bottom-line” and I hope you will all help support my efforts and my convictions. I am going to review some of my favorite movies, bring you what others are saying about it and the movie itself, or a link to where to watch. Under each film will be links to purchase the DVD for your home video collection.
It’s that simple guys, show them the film, if it’s good then they will want to watch it again and can then order it then and there.
Is that not the way to do it? Yes!
Is there anything wrong with doing this? No!
Do I expect to get rich from this? Not on your life, this is set up on an Amazon Associate account, so a couple a bucks every month so I can buy more movies for my film collection would be good enough for me. My purpose in doing this is to get the idea in the heads of the movie studios some of the possibilities the Internet could bring as a great marketing tools.
My first video is not actually a movie, but don’t be so picky, it is the best seasonal “movie” that anyone born since the end of the “Baby Boom” has seen at least a dozen times, Charles Shultz’s classic, “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. Yes, “It’s a Wonderful Life” is “The Classic Christmas Movie” hands down on every list out there, but this video is closer to the hearts of my generation.
Tears well up, just thinking about the opening scene and the music of the Vince Guaraldi trio’s “Skating” and being a bit of a C.B. when it comes to Christmas, it is easy to settle in once again into childhood memories. How many of us tap our feet every time we hear “Linus and Lucy” more commonly known as the Charlie Brown Christmas song? Or, during Linus’ recital of the first noel, is there a dry eye on the house? I hope you enjoy this classic, my Christmas present to the world, “Merry Christmas Everyone!”
Not much needs to be said by me, except that I hope you “get the message” and as Jethro Tull once sang in a ditty, “The Christmas spirit is not one you drink!” Btw: the best time of year to watch this, other than Christmas Eve, is a nice summer evening, sitting on the beach. Share Christmas year-round. I’ll be bring more holiday classics over the next few days and in the new year, I’ll be counting down my top movies list, see you at the movies!

Amazon.com Review:
This television classic features the Peanuts characters in the story of Charlie Brown’s problematic efforts to mount a school Christmas pageant. Everybody’s on board: Lucy, Snoopy, Schroeder, Pig-Pen, but the biggest impression is surely made by Linus, who stops the show with his recitation from the gospels of the story of Christ’s birth. –Tom Keogh
